Jesus told his followers that He did not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it. What did He mean by this? Does this mean that we are continually condemned by the law or that we are destined for hell unless we can effectively live perfect lives? Of course not, Jesus came as fulfilment of the law only He could abide perfectly by. In so doing this, Jesus has transformed the condemnation of the law into a standard that we should strive to live by.
