King Herod allowed his hunger for power, the distractions of the world, and his fear of loosing what was never his to begin with to cloud his heart. When we focus solely on what this world has to offer and that is what we allow our heart to chase after we will find ourselves willing to do great and terrible things in order to attain or keep it.
However, when it is Christ that we seek after and His way and perspective what we strive to follow we can bask in the grace and peace of all He has to offer.
